Sliding out in a kayak across the calm, translucent waters of the Jøkelfjord is a truly immersive arctic experience. Our kayaks are easy to use and stable in the water, and an experienced local instructor will demonstrate a range of basic techniques. They will guide you as you drift gently over the surface, introducing you to the fjord’s bird and marine life, as well as the natural and cultural history of the landscape. If conditions allow, you will have the chance to paddle up close to the Øksfjordjøkelen glacier whose vast curtains of ice glitter between the mountains.
